Hello to everyone at Dovedale

Here's a HUGE HELLO to everyone at Dovedale Primary School. I am really honoured and excited to be your Patron of Reading and I can't wait to come along and meet you all. Before I come along you might like to have a look around my website so you can find out a bit more about me.

This web diary (or blog) is the place where we can keep in touch with each other when I am not able to come into school. This is the place where I can tell you what I'm doing and can suggest some books that you and you friends might enjoy. Whenever I write something in the diary, you will be able to read it and leave a little comment too if you like. Once I've read the comments they will appear here for everyone else to read too.

You need to get involved too - If you've read a good book, drawn a great picture or done some good writing, you or your teachers can email it to me and I can include it here for everyone else to see. You can also use this page if you want to ask me any questions - or you can email them to me and I can include them here for others to read.

Teachers can share books and things too... perhaps you've read a book that another class might like. Perhaps you've read a book that another teacher or parent might enjoy - if so, then please let us know.

  1. Recently i have been reading a book by John Boyne called The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. This book trains the mind about what happened to the Jews in WW2 as Bruno is took to Outwith where a concentration camp awaits.Bruno finds a boy and helps him find his dad but he is taken gas chamber which Nazis pretended was a shower.Bruno died.

    1. Thank you for leaving a message and sharing this book... The boy in the striped pyjamas is a very powerful story isn't it. I love reading fantasy and funny stories but stories with a real historical setting can be really good too can't they.

  2. Recently I have been reading Little women a classic book by Louisa May Alcott. This book shows you the life of four sisters Meg,Jo,Beth and Amy (In age order). This book is set within the America civil war. The girls Farther goes a way to fight. In this book the girls go through a lot of sad and personal events but they help each other get through them.I really recommend this book to people who like reading classics and I can't wait to read all the sequels.

  3. Wow... this really is a classic isn't it. I've not read this even though it was on our bookshelf when I was little... my mum read it when she had been little and she loved it.
